Sea Smoke Shipping Policy

WEATHER CONDITIONS and PREFERRED SHIPPING DATE:

Sea Smoke cannot determine weather conditions at every shipping destination. Therefore, we offer you the opportunity to choose your preferred shipping date based upon your expected local weather conditions at the time of delivery.

To avoid the heat of summer, both here in Santa Barbara County and across the country, we do not ship orders during the warmer months. Instead, all of our wines ship during the cooler months in the late fall. While we will do our best to make sure orders are not shipped during unseasonably warm periods in the late fall, we cannot determine weather conditions at every shipping destination. Therefore, we offer you the opportunity to choose your preferred shipping date based upon your expected local weather conditions at the time of delivery.

PREFERRED SHIPPING DATE:

Your “Preferred Shipping Date” (PSD) is the date your order will leave our warehouse—not the delivery date. Your delivery date is determined based on your selected shipping method (see below).

HOLD FOR PICK-UP:

Sea Smoke does not offer a hold for pick up option, except under very special circumstances.

SHIPPING METHOD:

Protecting your investment and the quality of our wines during shipment is a priority for us here at Sea Smoke. If possible, we highly recommend shipping to a business destination where someone is always available to receive the wines and provide an adult signature. If you will not be able to sign for your wines (required by law), or if meeting your delivery driver is a challenge, we recommend using UPS’s free Hold At Location service.

INTERNATONAL SHIPMENTS:

For our international customers, your government may apply additional taxes or duties to your wines upon arrival. Unfortunately, we are unable to process any such additional charges in advance, and they are generally due upon order receipt. Duties and taxes are the responsibility of our customers at their local customs office.
